“It’s Showtime” …everything you need to know about the annual recital!

There is a tremendous amount of time and effort that goes into producing the annual performance. In the past we have provided individual packets for students to bring home with many pages of information. Sometimes the information got home...sometimes it didn't and the cost of producing the printed material was significant. This year we will once again be emailing updates to student families and directing everyone to the web site for information. We have determined that over 98 percent of our families have email addresses on file with us and therefore have access to the internet. The result is information and show details that you can access at any time to read, reference or print if you choose to do so.

Summer Schedule!

The Summer schedule is available and the Fall Schedule will be available shortly. Take a look at the a Summer schedule for all of the class offerings we have planned for the studio this summer! This is a great way to give the kids some fun things to do during the summer and we take $20.00 off the tuition of a current student if they register with a new student for a summer program.

Make-up classes…

Due to the inclement weather some classes were cancelled. We are working on a makeup schedule and we will have it available shortly. The schedule will identify where you may make-up classes for those that were missed. Please check with us to see which class is best for you. We do not refund tuition for classes that are missed.

Costume orders…

We have received about 3/4 of the costumes we have ordered. We will continue to track our orders and distribute all costumes as they are received.

Want a professional show video! Once again we have contracted with Via Vision to produce a high quality DVD at a very reasonable price. Orders placed at ticket sales are ONLY $25.00. After May 17^th they are $30.00. We have a minimum order requirement so save money and order right away!

Student pictures will once again be taken by Peter Noel Dance Photographers at the studio on June 6^th and 7^th. The schedule is posted on the bulletin board at the studio and a Picture Day Schedule is also available on the website. Order forms are available at the studio and you will also find an Order form on the website. Professional, studio photographs are a wonderful keepsake that lasts forever

Ø Show ticket information - Follow this link and you will find the details regarding ticket sales. In summary, tickets go on sale Saturday, May 16^th at 2:00pm for the Saturday 2:00 and 6:00 shows and 4:00pm for the Sunday 1:00 show and Sunday 5:00 show. “Deli tickets” will be distributed shortly before the beginning of sales to hold your place in line. Remember, there is reserved seating at the theater. Because these are difficult economic times for many folks there will be no increase in ticket prices this year. Adult tickets are $10.00 and children are $7.00. All information regarding ticket sales may also be found on the website. We also want to remind you that you will not be able to purchase tickets if your account is not paid in full. If you don’t want to stand in line we will once again be implementing a “will call” system this year. Starting Monday, May 11^th at 3:00pm you may stop at the desk and reserve your tickets with a check or credit card payment. We will assign the best seats that are available after ticket sales on May 16^th. Tickets will be sold on a first come first served basis. Families with a balance due will receive a statement of their account and all accounts must be paid in full before you will be able to purchase show tickets. Please make sure your email address is correct in our database. If you do not have an email address please check your account status at the desk.

Ø Show Assignments are posted! - We have finalized the show assignments and they are posted on the wall at the studio. This year we will have two shows on Saturday, June 27th at 2:00 and 6:00 and two shows on Sunday, June 28th at 1:00 and 5:00. Show selection is a very lengthy and complicated process in which we try to accommodate as many people as possible as we try to meet other essential criteria. In the past some classes had to be split up to put dancers together with siblings or perhaps to accommodate those who may take multiple classes. Some dancers may be required to perform in multiple shows. This is the only way to control the length of the show and to have enough seating for the audience. We truly apologize for the impact it may have upon some of our students and their families. Check the bulletin board to find out your dancer’s show assignment. A “P” indicates the primary show for each student and is noted on the assignment sheet. You should buy tickets for the primary show! Remember, the show is scheduled for June 27th and 28^th at the Amato Center of the Boys and Girls Club in Milford. Tickets will go on sale May 16^th. See the ticket sales information above for details or check the website.

Ø Tights, shoes and new leotard requirements - A list of requirements for tights or socks and shoes for each class is available on the website and the studio notice board. The list also includes the type and color of the required shoes. Please be sure to check to see what you will need. We ask that all dancers be properly attired with the appropriate shoes. Our last shoe order for the year will be made on June 9^th. If you do not have the right color shoes you are not required to purchase new ones however any new shoes that are purchased should be the proper color. AND REMEMBER …Any female student with a costume change in the show (NOT Kidz classes) is required to wear a neutral colored leotard under their costume. They may be purchased at any retail store or they may be ordered from us at a cost of $11.00.

Once again we are looking for volunteers who would like to help at the show. In order to keep expenses and ticket prices down we are unable to provide free tickets or shirts this year. But we sure would like to have a few folks give us a hand backstage, ushering attendees and parking cars. If you are interested please sign up for a show when your child will not be performing. We want you to enjoy the fruits of their labor from a good seat in the theater.

Ø Introducing Broadway Bound Choral Programs - Broadway Bound is excited to announce the addition of Marguerite Knudsen to the staff as the Director of Choral Programs. Marguerite will be offering group voice classes in the hope of establishing singing groups that will perform in Regional Competition. The group will meet on Fridays starting May 17^th for a six week session. Students in grades three through six will have class from 6:00-7:00 and students in grades seven through twelve will meet from 7:00 -8:00. The cost for the entire session is only $70. The students will present their introductory performance at the Broadway Bound recital in June! If you want additional information or if you are interested in joining the Choral Group you may reply to this email and we will provide you with the details.

Souvenir t-Shirts - We have placed another order for this years custom recital t-shirts and we are getting ready to send another. The shirts show the recital dates, show title, studio name, etc. and the names of all the performers are printed on the back. A sample shirt is on display at the studio. Shirts are light blue with dark blue and black print and may be purchased for $14.00. If you are interested another order will be places on or about May 15^th. All orders are prepaid and delivery takes about two weeks. You can send us an email to charge the credit card on file. Be sure to include the shirt size.

Ø A Cheerleading brush-up course begins July 9^th - Come and join our cheerleading brush-up class beginning July 9^th and the following Thursdays throughout the month. Classes will be conducted from 6:30-8:00 under the skilled direction of long time cheering instructor, Shawna Hanley.Tuition for the entire program is only $80.00. C’mon and sign up. Cheer! Tumble! Dance!

Ø Fall schedule - The fall schedule will be available soon. Once again we will be e-mailing a schedule and registration form directly to you. If you have any questions as to what classes you should take, please feel free to ask. Remember that each student generally moves up a level. For example, if a child is in Jazz I this year you should register for Jazz II in the fall. Please register early to guarantee enrollment in the class you want. There are many exciting changes taking place so do not delay. Once again, no registration fee will be charged to any student who registers before June 28^th. The studio continues to attract the interest of many in the community. Please do not delay! We are trying to give every opportunity to our current students however, class size is limited.

Ø Have you heard? We’re doing birthday parties! – Last month we announced that we will be doing birthday parties with packages for boys and girls, young and old! Music, games, dance, tumbling, face painting, nail design, hair wraps, animal critters, a clown and more can be packaged in a custom format that your child and friends will remember for a long time to come. A complete package can include group instruction, refreshments and private use of the facilities. Ø Laura's World Fund Shoe Drive - Laura's World Fund is a non-profit organization that contributes 100% of all donations to disadvantaged children around the world. The fund, created in memory of the late Laura Wolf of Merrimack, is currently collecting used sneakers for the Nike Reuse-A-Shoe program. In one month they have collected over 400 pairs of shoes in and around the Merrimack area. Nike takes the soles of these shoes and makes athletic track surfaces for inner city children all over the world. Broadway Bound would like to lend a hand so bring in your used sneakers before the end of May and we will get them to the Laura’s Fund volunteers.

Ø Performing Company News…preparing for Ribfest on June 20-21 - The Performing Company will meet on Friday, May 8^th from 6:00pm-8:00pm. This is a very important meeting as we will be preparing for Ribfest and setting the order of the show. PLEASE be sure to let us know if you will be performing. We need your response ASAP! We are scheduled to dance on Saturday June 20^th at 6:00pm and Sunday, June 21^st at 1:00pm. Extra rehearsals will be required. If you are not performing at Ribfest you need not attend.

If you have received your costume please try it on to be sure it fits. If you do not try your costume on right away there may not be time for us to exchange it.

Ø An analogy worth repeating…again and again! - At this time of the year things really begin to get hectic and, like a freight train, we will continue to build up speed, faster and faster until we pull into the station in June! We ask that you be patient with the engineer, the conductor, the ticket window and the rest of the railroad. Most problems are not as bad as they may seem and are usually easily fixed. We encourage you to keep your email address up-to-date and check to be sure we have all of the information we need to prepare you for the recital. Make the website your first stop for answers and if you are still at a loss, email us and we will get back to you promptly. If all else fails, ask someone at the desk in the studio. ALL ABOARD!!!!!
