September 2010 Newsletter                                                                                                                             Thank you for being Broadway Bound!

Welcome back everyone…and for all our new student families…thank you so much for being Broadway Bound!

If you are returning to Broadway Bound…thank you so much for joining us for another year. If you are new to the studio we are happy to have you for your first fun-filled and exciting semester. You are our "newbees"! Once again the year will be loaded with great dancing, tumbling, twirling, new friends and a great time for everyone. Our facilities will be busy with enthusiastic students and their families. Please be assured, we do not take your enrollment for granted. We know you have a choice of activities for your family and we are honored that you have selected Broadway Bound. We are pleased to be able to play a role in the arts education of your children and we want you to know that we do not take our responsibility lightly. Once again...thank you for being Broadway Bound! - Jennifer DeFelice

Open House Tuesday, July 13th, 6:00 - 8:00

MANY CLASSES ARE FILLING UP AND SOME ARE ALREADY CLOSED!

Missed the last Open House? Still need to register for classes, get sized for shoes and order apparel. Have you picked up your Recital DVD? We have scheduled one more open house for your convenience.  Some classes are already full! Don’t be disappointed! If you have not registered already take care of it now before the craziness begins. We will have our last open house Wednesday between 5:30 and 8:00 at the studio so you can stop by then. You may also register via email at broadwayboundpac@comcast.net or phone at 429-8844. Phone and Internet registrations must be completed with a credit card. You will not be registered and class placement assured until all registration fees and payments are received.

Shoes, apparel and dress requirements Once again we would like to help you with your shoe and apparel orders and remind you of some of our very basic dress requirements. We will be placing a shoe and apparel order this week so our dancers, twirlers and tumblers can all have the proper attire and footwear on the first day of class.  You may come in during any of our operating hours to be sized.  We will be around this week painting and cleaning. Give us a call to see when we are open. One sure bet…we will be available during the Open House on Wednesday.

We offer an expanded line of leotards, tights, skirts and pants as well as all required shoes.  If you choose to purchase shoes elsewhere please do not buy black ballet shoes. We do require our ballet students to wear pink or white tights and a solid black leotard.  They are permitted to wear ballet skirts as well as a solid black fitted shirt without writing on it.  The hair must also be tightly secured back in a bun. Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, Lyrical, Musical Theatre and Baton Classes may wear their hair tightly secured in the back if it is more than shoulder length.  They may wear any style solid black pants however tights and leotard are always acceptable.  No shorts will be allowed.  Be sure to check out the variety of black pants available for sale at the studio.  All female tumbling students will be required to wear a Bicycle Short Unitard, i.e. a leotard with shorts.  Hair should be in a low ponytail to allow for tumbling. Tumblers will also be required to wear tumbling shoes this year. We can order them for you. For all Kidz Kombo classes there is no dress requirement.  There are many cute outfits out there and you are only little once.  We simply ask that they come in tights and a leotard and their hair is pulled back if it is long.  Remember not to purchase any shoes until you are sure they are going to stay in the class.  Sometimes dancing doesn’t turn out to be what they expected.

Take a bus to Broadway Bound

Once again Broadway Bound is an assigned bus stop for students coming from JMUES, the Middle School, and High School. If you would like to take advantage of the opportunity you will need to send a note to school indicating the days your student will be riding the bus and further request the permission for the entire year. The JMUES bus is #38B and the Middle School and High School bus is #16. Students will be left off at the Broadway Bound driveway entrance to facilitate an unobstructed path during the snow months. Don't hesitate to take advantage of this terrific service.

Broadway Bound is pleased to once again include the nationally acclaimed Musikgarten program in our curriculum. Musikgarten programs awaken and develop your child’s inborn joy and talent for making music. Early childhood – a time of rapid growth and brain development – is the optimal time to start their musical journey. Beginning at Family Music for Babies and continuing through Music Makers At the Keyboard, your child steps across that important bridge from general music learner to instrumental skill. Choose from Musikgarten’s full spectrum of classes from birth to age 9, and share with your child the gift of music – the gift that lasts a lifetime. For a complete description of programs and materials pick up a brochure at the studio or check out their website at info@musikgarten.org You can also check out the class schedule on the Broadway Bound website at broadwayboundpac.com.

 Classes begin Saturday, September 11th

The Recital Video has been received… and we have sent multiple notices to everyone reminding you to pick them up. If you have not received the video that you ordered and paid for,  you may pick it up at the studio any time we are there. Come to the Open House or stop in and we’ll have it for you.

For those of you that are new to Broadway Bound

...please do not forget  to drive around to the back of the building to drop students off. With our rear entrance, one way traffic around the building will facilitate “drop off and pick up” and will continue to alleviate some parking issues. Drive into the property from DW Highway, drop off behind the building and exit the property on to Twin Bridge Road. If you are parking in front or if you do not drive to the lower level, you may still park in the upper lot and exit directly on to DW Highway. One way traffic is just behind the building.

Wanted...shoes for our loaner shoe bucket!

If you have any shoes, in good condition,  that you no longer need,  we would love to have them for our shoe buckets for others to borrow.

Performing Company Update:

We have once again been asked to perform at the Down Syndrome Buddy Walk on September 18th  in Concord. Details are forthcoming. We were so well received last year and very much appreciated by all of the Special Needs families and they are looking forward to our return. Let’s be sure to have a large turnout. Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness Once again we are looking to have Team Broadway Bound at the Breast Cancer Walk on October 17th  in Nashua.   If you are interested please let Noelle know right away. You may email her at noelle.joubert@comcast.net.  We can assure you this is not only a great cause close to our hearts but a great time as well.  This year we will have our own team shirts made so you will not be required to commit to a dollar amount to get a shirt. In addition to the walk we have been asked to perform at Greeley Park.

Bring a Buddy to Class! At Broadway Bound our best advertising is your personal recommendation. Over the past 11 years most of our students have come from the strong support and outstanding recommendations of our student families and alumni.  The week of October 4th thru 9th is Buddy Week at Broadway Bound. Each student is encouraged to invite a friend to join them in class that week to try a free class. Why not plan now to bring a friend to class and introduce them to the performing arts and show them the studio we are so proud of. If you bring a friend and they enroll, we have a very special t-shirt for both of you!

“Me and my buddy are Broadway Bound!”
