How often have you seen the words, "Support our troops"? And how often have you thought what can I do? And when we sent out an appeal for our "Greeting Cards for the Troops" campaign did you think it was no big deal. Well it was a big deal. We have received several notes and letters from soldiers thanking us for our thoughtfulness.
We received a wonderful thank you letter from Brigadier General Michele G. Compton who said in part, "On behalf of all the US service members stationed in Iraq, please pass on my sincere appreciation to all the volunteers at the Broadway Bound Performing Arts Center, Our Lady of Mercy Church and who helped collect over 3200 greeting cards to send to us. We genuinely appreciate your thoughtful care packages! Within our organization, we have service members from the Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marines. We are working hard every day to help make Iraq a better place for its citizens since the war began six years ago. Iraq has become more secure and the living conditions have improved across the country. Working with our Iraqi partners and the US government, the US military's efforts have allowed the Iraqi people to move toward a more promising future." And last week we received another citation from General Charles H. Jacoby, Jr. along with a flag that has flown over Headquarters Multi National Corps in Iraq in appreciation of our effort.
At Broadway Bound we realize that our responsibility as teachers goes beyond the arts. It has always been our goal to educate young people about citizenship, responsibility and good choices. We are proud of all of our students and their families and with humility and pride we say, thank you for your help, continue to support our troops and God Bless America!! Jennifer and the Staff |

Did you sign up a Buddy during Buddy Week? Don't forget to pick up your T-shirt! And by the way...Buddy week is over but it's not too late to bring your Buddy to Broadway Bound to try a free class. You can still bring a friend to class to show them why you enjoy the performing arts. Let them join in the fun and see if they might like to “become Broadway Bound”. We will be accepting new students for another week or two. At that time we will need to “lock in” our classes and prepare our dances for the annual performance in June. If you know of anyone who just finished soccer or cheerleading and would like to start taking classes please let them know they still have time to enroll. |
